This is 3 years under graduate program where students learn about all hospitality aspects, including 17 weeks of industrial training in all operational areas, along with regular academic inputs for the rest of the duration.

'Big step forward.'. FHRAI has taken a major initiative in associating it's prestigious FHRAI-IHM with National Council for Hotel Management (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India) to introduce a Bachelor's in Hospitality management from the 2021-22 session. This institute, in particular, has a dynamic role to play in the world of hospitality education amidst the changing and challenging scenario which is now the new normal. FHRAI, aided by the professional expertise and experience of its members, should be an enabling agent of change not only in the deliverance if its contactless services yet with personalized application in the industry, but with complementing changes to the structure of curriculum and content delivery in its Hospitality institute. FHRAI-IHM would do well to add to its core strength of trained faculty under its able and distinguished Principal, by induction of serving managers and executives on deputation. Also, Industry should gladly come forward to invest in the growth of the institute by way of providing internship opportunities to faculty and students, sponsoring brilliant students and faculty for exposure abroad, and scholarships to attract meritorious among children of hotel employees. FHRAI-IHM, without doubt, has a significant role to play in the development of young professionals to meet the highest standards of the industry and allied services.

The move indeed is pleasant news and as part of the fraternity we welcome such move which will surely help iron out issues that persisted between actual operations and classroom teachings. With this backward integration of FHRAI-IHM and NCHM, Noida the apex body of FHRAI-IHM could offer more inputs on the ever-changing hospitality industry, more so in post COVID era. This seamless integration would also mean more job offers for the passing out budding hoteliers while ensuring that an Industry trained hands-on associates are available to industry. Industry expects that with this Golden Hand Shake FHRAI-IHM would be able to tweak the study material in association with NCHM-Noida which would be more in line with today’s demands and more on job activities, visits and training sessions rather than keep it only classroom studies. This will help uplift the general well-being of units as post pandemic many aspiring candidates have seen the gruesome face of Hospitality Industry and few have decided not to take this as a career option

The latest collaboration of FHRAI-IHM with National Council (NCHMCT) will create a great platform for producing quality hospitality professionals in the increasing demand market of Delhi NCR. With focus on quality Industry exposure in operations and support departments, FHRAI Institute can surely create a niche for themselves amongst the top hotel chains operating in India and abroad. The expectations of the Industry is to provide a consistent platform for degree students through quality internship and opportunities for Full Term Employment. The industry is expected to grow at a faster pace as soon as International travel re-opens and is expected to have a busy Quarter4 with weddings, festivals and social events in the business pipeline.

I am happy to hear the great news of affiliation of FHRAI-IHM courses by National Council for Hotel Management, NOIDA to conduct one Degree course in Hospitality and Hotel Management and three Diploma courses from academic session 2021-22. Institute already has a world class infra structure with separate hostels for boys and girls. I am sure, with able leadership of its Director, having 35 years of academic experience in this field and his experienced team, with full support from world’s second largest Hotels and Restaurants Federation, will become world class ‘Centre of Excellence’ in very short time. I expect that this Institute will develop world class pedagogy for teaching learning so that the students coming out from this Institute are Industry ready and able to contribute their knowledge when joining Industry. The students passing out from Institute would be able to join in all sectors of Hospitality. I expect Institute would give due emphasis to impart entrepreneur skills to students who wish to run their own business. My Best wishes to All stake holder of FHRAI-IHM.

The industry is very excited with the tie up between FHRAI –IHM & NCHM, Noida. It brings together best of intellect, infrastructure, faculty, leadership & environment for budding Hotel aspirants. The relationship will enhance the technology knowhow, expertise of great academicians along with training & exposure to the industry for the students. The collective experience of FHRAI –IHM over the years in inculcating right attitude & competencies in their culture will benefit NCHM immensely. We wish both the Organizations seamless transition of knowledge & skills going forward. The industry will gain by looking to recruit more talented & accomplished hoteliers from the Institute. The recent changes in hospitality should be incorporated in the curriculum as well as making the students adept to consistent challenge in scaling upto the dynamic environment in Guest services. The Business & Financial acumen should be the focus areas with their respective domains for the students. With the experienced leadership at the institute, they will be able to draw a sustained flow of industry stalwarts to share their insights. We wish NCHM great success with the relationship.

I am very pleased to know about the association of FHRAI –IHM with NCMCT. This move will definitely help to cross breed talent and also create more learning opportunities for the students. Times are changing and especially during this pandemic we have realised that education is not restricted to classroom sessions only, in fact we must introduce methodologies on experiential learning. Many years ago a hotel management syllabus was designed to prepare students for five star luxury hotels, but we have seen a major shift in the career aspiration of a budding hospitality graduate. They want to pursue career in media or be an entrepreneur. Some want to do stagier with Michelin star chefs and then work their way up to own their own Michelin stars. Since we hotels are the end users of the students, it will be a desire to have an industry ready student who can be a part of the operational team, but at the same time have an agility of a leader. Someone who can do disruptive thinking and strive for guest excellence. A student who is well aware of the changing dimensions of the hospitality industry and still has a vision and far sightedness. In short, we would like the students to be business managers who truly believe in team work, commitment and humility.

Indian Travel and Tourism Market is one of the fastest growing sectors with its contribution to the GDP forecasted to be around 9.2% by the year 2029 from the present 6.8%. Report by several eminent organisations strongly suggest that Indian Tourism is on the verge of a major breakthrough and a professional degree in this field can lead one into countless possibilities. Be it in terms of career choices, growth prospects or the PayScale, the benefits of having a Hotel Management degree can hardly be overstated. Conventionally, a career is Hospitality has been a less sought-after choice by youths vis-à-vis other career choices but thanks to the efforts of institute like FHRAI, which is world’s third largest Hospitality association that things are changing. If today, Indian Tourism market commands the distinction of one of the fastest growing sectors, it is but an outcome of their efforts to develop a common platform where all Industry stakeholders can voice their concerns and share their expertise, with a vision to ensure an orderly and expeditious growth. Having said so, for any sector for prosper, availability of skilled manpower is an absolute necessary and here no amount of appreciation would be enough for the role that NCHMCT is doing in this regard. Equipping students with the required skillset, it is for their contribution that Indian Hospitality now outshines their global competitions. As an Industry stakeholder and my association with FHRAI for a long time, I am much happy by the news of FHRAI-IHM affiliation with NCHM, Noida. Our Industry will immensely benefit from this association of two world class organisations and we hope FHRAI IHM, like it has always done, this time too will make efforts and leverage this affiliation to scale our sector to new heights of success and growth.

My Congratulations to Mr. A.K. Singh and the faculty of FHRAI – IHM for their recent affiliation with NCHM. I wish FHRAI -IHM success in all their future endeavours. With the vast experience, Mr. A.K. Singh has, I am sure the IHM will do exceedingly well and produce the finest professionals in the hospitality industry. Few of my expectations from FHRAI – IHM are as follows:
• The gap between the theory and the practical hospitality needs its bridged.
• There is more emphasis on case studies for students to make their understanding of business needs better
• Focus on revenue management.
• More guest lectures from hospitality professionals for the students which can help their understanding better.
• Distinguish between the skill development and management aspects for the students

Heartiest congratulations to FHRAI-IHM affiliation with NCHM, Noida. FHRAI works closely with the industry and knows the requirements and challenges. Hopefully they will create industry ready candidates who are well versed with the latest trends and software. The focus should be more towards the practical aspects of business with greater emphasis on exposure to Hotels and Resorts. The Institute must cover the all-important Time Share Industry. During Covid-19, Resorts have been gaining attention and remained profitable. The courses can have a separate section on its working and deliverables. Since a lot of students end up working in industries which are not core hotels, it would be a good idea to actually take that into consideration by discussing the merits and what it takes to succeed in those alternate careers. The Institute should bridge the existing divide between what is being taught and what the industry expects of candidates to know in order to deliver premier services and be successful.

I would like to Congratulate the entire team of FHRAI-IHM under able leadership of Mr. Arun Singh (Director- FHRAI-IHM) on affiliation with NCHM , Noida which is a premier governing body of top hotel management institutes under Ministry of Tourism Government Of India. Also would like to congratulate FHRAI which is the apex association of Hospitality industry for this Excellent initiative to provide well trained Professionals to Hospitality & other allied indusries. My expectation from FHRAI-IHM is that it will provide a strong base & foundation for the youth who aspire to take hospitality as a profession . I am sure that FHRAI-IHM will take on new emerging trend of the industry in their curriculum and will also focus on the growing areas like Revenue Management , Marketing , Entrepreneurship , Social Media management along with Stake holder relationship Management apart from the core subjects of F&B , Culinary arts , Front office & Housekeeping . The focus should be on Imparting quality hospitality education considering the latest trends prevalent in the industry so that the graduates passing out from FHRAI-IHM can also opt for other career paths apart from Hotels & Restaurants .
